Gabriel
“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.”

You're Such an Inspiration for the Ways
name: ARMISTED, Ophelia
age: 23
orientation: straight
gender: female
species: archangel
That I Will Never Ever Choose to Be
build: slender
height: 5'7
weight: 126 lbs
eye color: silver blue
hair color: dark brown
appearance: Ophelia is tallish, and could be considered curvy with a relatively pretty, angular face. She is possessed of long limbs and digits; a piano player's hands. Her fashion sense is sharp, but not over-the-top. She enjoys wearing clothing that flatters, but doesn't show off too much skin... A certain amount of humility is required, after all.
face claim: Olivia Wilde
Oh So Many Ways for Me to Show You
personality: Ophelia is a kind, wise woman with a gentle touch. She is serene and almost always level-headed, preferring to think things through before leaping to action. Adversely, when angered she becomes the dangerous sort of woman. As an archangel whose (occasionally) had to deal out punishment, Gabriel is not above coming to blows. However, being one of the wise ones, Ophelia enjoys knowledge and always imparts it whenever possible... As annoying as that might be.
strengths:
+ A close connection to God.
+ Speaks the world's languages.
+ Superhuman strength and speed
+ Very good with public speaking and has excellent conversational skills.
+ Can manipulate air, giving her the ability to change and create it at will.
weaknesses:
- Human form is killable, which can send Gabriel out of the body. Finding a replacement is a nuisance.
- Chocolate. Ophelia is a woman with ovaries, after all.
- Gabriel is still getting used to having a human form. She doesn't quite understand eating, drinking, or having to use the bathroom.
- She's very susceptible to her emotions because they're still new to her.
- All of the senses are strong, often causing pain.
fun facts: anything interesting?
history: Ophelia Armisted was born in a small town in southern England to a very pious family. They raised her to be a good Catholic; values which she still carries to this day. Going through school, Ophelia had pretty decent grades, though she did not graduate in the top ten. Though she was good at maintaining grades, she wasn't all that interested in following through to college. There was just nothing she wanted to do.
Still, her parents wanted the best for their child, so they pushed her to go. Rather than attending a college in jolly old England, Ophelia felt the need to escape. So she applied to NYU for business, even though she wasn't really interested. However, her first month in New York she fell in love with the idea of music. It wasn't long before she dropped out of academia and delved into the world of music. Ophelia began taking vocal and piano music, otherwise spending her time working voluntarily to help the homeless and earning her money by playing small gigs in small places.
It was one night that she heard the voice of God, asking if she would like to help her fellow man even more. Of course, she was obliged to help God do anything. It was then that Gabriel took over Ophelia's body. Since then, Gabriel's spent her time keeping up appearances by fighting on the home front. She still helps out in soup kitchens, and she still books gigs to sing.

sample: Ophelia sat in her living room, curled around a book upon the couch. There was music turned down so low that it was barely herd at all. Bach-Gounod's Ave Maria. A smile smile wrapped itself upon her lips as she read, a sigh passing through her lips. She had only been here for a day thus far and everything seemed to be going well. As well as expected, anyway.
Sprawling out, Ophelia set the book down and closed her eyes, allowing the gentle flow of the music to take her away. After a few moments of laying there, she felt a sudden pressure in her lower abdomen. Opening both eyes, she peered down at herself and lifted both hands to poke at her stomach. This seemed to be a very unpleasant sensation! So much so that she jolted upright and sat on her hands; she would't be doing that again. Ophelia began to panic. She had never before experienced this thing. There was only one thing to do.
Leaping from the couch, she made a mad dash across the room and yanked the receiver and dialed the only man she knew that could explain the issue. It rang quite a while before a blank "What?" was heard on the other line. "MICHAEL! It hurts in my lower abdomen! What's wrong with me?!" There was a sigh. Apparently Ophelia had to use the bathroom. A rush of humility passed over the archangel-gone-human and she thanked him several times, the words mushing together and losing all meaning. She quickly slammed the phone back onto the hook and ran for the bathroom.
