At birth Adrian was a small baby but as the years passed the once weak child grew into a decent sized woman. Still since she doesn’t strap on some six inch heels and go strutting down the boulevard the pale blonde is often just a tad shorter then the bustling crowd around her. Yet since she moved to New York Adrian has been indulging herself in her latest obsession. Boots. It’s a rare site when one catches sight of Miss Frey’s thin legs and they aren’t bound up in some extravagant jumble of leather and buckles. Wicked looking footwear aside Adrian’s attire isn’t very sinister. She’s fond of dresses and skirts since that was she has been wearing for a vast majority of her life still the strange colors and patterns of the clothes she wears are enough to raise some questions. Since most of her money heads toward school and not starving Adrian doesn’t roam around the trendiest stores not that she likes much of the clothing there anyway, instead she gets her outfits from a little shop close to her apartment. This has the thin child dressed in contrasting colors with weird designs that are as intriguing as they are strange.

Oh So Many Ways for Me to Show You
personality:
Those who first meet Adrian usually mark her as a shy and somewhat nervous girl. If confronted by a stranger the young woman will say very little, often in attempts to hide her strong accent. However her wide gray eyes which one would expect to be cast downward like a beaten dog are fixed on the face of her guest studying every twitch and tick. Behind her cloudy gaze Adrian isn’t just thinking about the conversation at hand but instead she’s watching the people around her intently. She sees how they act and react, learns what they love and despise, even takes note on any habits the might show. Careful not to revel too much of herself Frey simply sits and mentally jots down anything and everything she sees. By the time the young German deems the time right to open up and let her real self out she already has a book full of useless fact and tidbits about you that it would take years to catch up.
Once someone is privy to the inner Adrian most are surprised to find she’s not the timid little girl they first saw. Her once alarmed eyes now carry a strange gleam to them. A child-like curiosity emerges and coupled with her somewhat inelegant self ensures the occasional mishap. Yet with her eagerness to learn, especially from her own mistakes, Adrian is hardly a girl who will trip over the same rock twice. With her seemingly innocent wonder and lovely smile Miss Frey can easily draw people too her. In this world of hate and pain most who don’t know her extremely well see her as a shining star of happiness in the gloom. But like a child Miss Frey isn’t always so joyful and light hearted. Adrian is what most would call a dramatic. Her temper is quick to flare up and quick to die she can hold grudges for the most trivial things or forgive those she loves in a heartbeat. This apocalyptic horseman is a mesh of extreme emotions and immaturity that some people might find a little alarming. There is however one exception to the lovely woman’s mood swings. On what appear to be random occasions what once was a peppy and light girl will become a dreary and pessimistic shadow whose every word just drags others down into the crushing darkness that is depression. While her other emotions can come and go in the blink of an eye when Adrian gets stuck in one of her ruts it may take days or even weeks to coax her out of it.

history:
Mr. and Mrs. Frey seemed happy enough. The lovely young wife to an accomplished psychiatrist Helena Frey had all the time in the world to work toward her dream of becoming as famous a composer as Bach or Mozart but after awhile that dream took the backseat to her real desire. During their fifteen years of marriage Helena had not once bothered her busy husband Eldric about having a baby but as she felt her biological clock begin to slow down the talented musician longed for a child of her own. The thought of having a baby had never occurred to the cheerful Eldric but as soon as his wife brought up the subject the educated man noticed just how empty their large house in Stuttgart, Germany really was. More than happy to fulfill his wife’s wishes the prominent doctor took a well deserved vacation from the nut house to complete his little family. It only took two weeks before Helena found out she was pregnant and the expectant mother nearly jumped for joy. Little did she know of the horror she would unleash.
At first everything was peachy. Helena learned she was going to be mommy to a beautiful little girl who, besides the fact that she seemed a little tiny was perfectly healthy. Months later on October the 3rd the last day of the Oktoberfest in Munich Mrs. Frey was rushed into the delivery room panting and raving like a madwoman as her precious baby began to kick her way out. The birthing went off without a hitch, though afterwards while one of the nurses she was cleaning the newborn she began coughing up blood like she had been smoking two packs a day for the past ten years. Still with the gory oddness aside the Frey’s took home their little Adrian and for a little while it seemed like it was their happily ever after. However in the real world that’s hardly the case. While her body was recovering from spitting out another human being Helena was left open to all sorts of terrible microscopic nasties. After only three days of being home it seemed Helena was subsuming to extremely drug resistant tuberculosis. Kept in a hospital and not allowed to be anywhere near her baby girl it didn’t take long for the broken woman to lose the battle with the disease.
Eldric was heartbroken and every time he looked at the cooing little girl all he saw was his wife’s face and each time he looked away he imagined her slowly dying all over again. Unable to bear it the man, who was now suffering from a persistent cough, decided it would be best for both him and Adrian if he did what his mother suggested. At the age of three the wide-eyed girl was shipped off to her Grandma Frey in the countryside. A devout Roman Catholic the aging woman was hard on Adrian but not cruel. She wanted the girl to be strong but no matter what she tried it seemed Grandma Frey couldn’t shake the whimsical adolescence out of Adrian even as she got older. Accepting the fact that maybe the untimely death of her mother and all but abandonment by her father might have trapped Miss Frey’s mine in a permanent state of immaturity Grandma Frey just let the clumsy girl help out around the house when she wasn’t in school and ignored her flaws. Adrian adored school. She read every book she could get her hands on, and since she didn’t have too many friends she had as much time as she needed.
Dusty pages and pretty chemicals weren’t the only thing that peaked the young girl’s curiosity.
Once the school got in some brand new baby grand pianos Adrian was one of the first to rush to the sign-up sheets. However she was a little too late. All the positions filled and with her stuck out in the sidelines as a runner-up the poor girl was crushed. Her Grandmother had told her before of how talented her mother was, since it was the only thing Grandma Frey seemed to like about her Protestant daughter-in-law, and all Adrian wanted was to make beautiful music like her. Dreams dashed Adrian trekked home in the rain spiraling into one of her deepest and blackest depressions to date. It appeared to her dear caretaker that she would never snap out of the darkness. That was until an outbreak of scarlet fever and chickenpox ravaged her school leaving nearly half of the kids sick in bed. Strangely enough every one of those signed up for the piano class had been afflicted and wouldn’t be in for weeks, one of them wouldn’t be back at all. Overjoyed Adrian bounded to school and along with a few of the other runner-ups who had escaped illness began learning the piano at a remarkable pace.
All throughout school the blonde child earned grades that were a little above average but the two subjects she excelled in were archery and music. Since one hardly had a use for a bow and arrow in the age of guns and bombs Adrian decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become one of the most talented pianist the world has ever seen. To do that the immature woman realized she would need to practice her ass off to compete with the men who have been buried for centuries and any new rising stars. It would seem that fate twisted in her favor when a rather prestigious school of the arts in New York requested that she come and study there. The letter added that they would happily pay for a little over half of her tuition. She kissed a disapproving Grandma Frey good bye and though she hadn’t heard from her father since the card he sent her on 12th birthday the now twenty Adrian wrote a fare thee well letter and made off to one of the busiest cities in the world.
What Adrian never found out was that her father was diagnosed with malaria a month before she left.

The soft click of leather heels against concert was muffled by the hypnotic chirping of crickets in the grass below. Each insect sang in perfect harmony and soon even the woman’s tired footsteps seemed to slip into the natural rhythm of the night. Adrian Frey didn’t even want to consider the fact that the grasshoppers were brainwashing her into going along with their little symphony, she was dead tired and thinking didn’t seem too appealing. Maneuvering the set of books in her hand Adrian’s weary gray eyes, lifeless and dull in the sickly yellow light that bathed the outdoor walkway caught sight of someone slumped against the wall in front of one of the doors. For a second the stranger snapped out of sight as the already scuffed toe of her combat boot collided with a cracked part of the sidewalk making her stumble forward. Lucky enough not to land on her face Adrian too ka few awkward steps forward before planting her feet firmly on the ground, her one free hand clutching lightly to the end of her simple white dress. For a second she just stood there, forgetting about the groaning woman in front of her and staring wide-eyed into the darkness. Shaking her head a little poor Adrian resumed her tiresome trek a bit more alert after the sadistic sidewalk had tried to send her sprawling onto the icy ground.
Forgiving the bitter stone beneath her feet Adrian focused her attention on the young woman with hair the color of dried mud as she groaned and clutched at her stomach. Slowing down a little and pulling her books close to her chest the German musician studied the woman closely. When she had moved in the other day didn’t the landlord tell her something about not going out at night because the muggers had gotten a little violent lately? Slowing down even more Adrian pleaded to some invisible force that she wouldn’t find some poor lady bleeding out all over the floor. She was much too tired to be traumatized by anything tonight. Closing in on the moaning figure Adrian tried to keep her eyes forward and ignore the possible cadaver but she was more then curious as to why she was lounging about on the cold ground. Only a few feet away the wind picked up and ruffled the ghostly fabric around Adrian’s thin body giving the woman chills. But that wasn’t all the wind brought. Suddenly the blonde pianist’s nostrils were attacked by a pungent and oddly familiar smell.
Somewhere in the dew soaked grass was an acidic pile of vomit and as Adrian walked past the poor woman it was obvious she wasn’t stabbed but seemed to be sick. Something rather disgusting looking was dried around the corners of her mouth and her eyes which on any other occasion would have been beautiful were puffy and red. Losing interest quickly Adrian snapped her smoky gaze toward her door just several yard before her. She had seen more then enough sickness in her lifetime and the aliments of strangers no longer interested her. Speeding up once she had completely passed by the ill fräulein Adrian couldn’t wait to be back in her tiny home away from home so she can collapse on her fluffy bed and forget all about piano keys and disease. Most of all Miss Frey couldn’t wait to be greeted by the overjoyed squeaks of her beloved Ratt. Lightly glossed lips curling up in a small smile Adrian slowly pulled out her ring of keys, which was weighed down by a tangled mess of frivolous trinkets and slid the shiny house key into the deadbolt lock and flicked it to the right. She pushed the door open and peered into the inky blackness as the sound of a tiny paws scurrying across laminated tiles toward her. Flicking on the light switch and flinging her books onto a chair by the door Adrian’s slate gray eyes locked onto a pair of tiny black dots attached to a furry brown body. With a grin the exhausted white horseman stepped inside the welcoming warmth of home and slowly shut the door to her hellhole apartment.
